Rules

As this event is an IFSA competition the ranking will be done using IFSA rules

Here is a summary of the rules of the official contests.
  • Speed slalom :
Qualification: the competitor will perform 2 runs on a line composed of: 12meter start, 20 cones spaced by 80cm, and 80 cm before the finish line. Each cone down or not slalomed will make 0.2 second penalty. Time is going from the start until the finish line. Time trials will produce a time trials ranking used to build up the KO system. The ranking of the time trials is produced with the best time of each competitor.
KO System: 2 competitors skate against each other. The winner of a duel is the first competitor winning 2 runs, so a duel can be 2 runs or 3 runs. In order to identify the 3rd, a consolidation final is played between the losers of the ½ finals.
  • Style slalom :
The competitor will perform a 1minute30second run (time starting at the first cone) over the 3 lines of slalom, 20 cones each, 50cm-80cm-120cm. The performance is done to music, which the competitors will provide on tape or CD before their run.
All the competitors will perform a first run, then they will perform the second one. The two runs will be marked on the following criteria:
Technique : how difficult the tricks presented are, how difficult the changes between tricks are.
Penalties : are taken into account for each cone down, and for each fall.
Style : how well the tricks are executed, the quality of the transitions, and a bonus is given for special tricks which are not properly slalom, but make the run nicer such as a block on heel wheels.
Management : variety of tricks (forward, backward, one foot, 2 feet, eagle …), respect of the music rhythm, changes of rhythm.
